The Alpage de Balme is a fantastic little mountain restaurant located near the Col des Posettes on the Balme mountain at the north-eastern end of the Chamonix Valley above the hamlet of Le Tour. The restaurant has a very nice traditional interior with a nice menu of local specialties which are all very nicely prepared. The restaurant has a nice outdoor terrace with beautiful views into the Chamonix Valley, the Glacier du Tour and the many peaks surrounding it. The restaurant is open from mid-June to mid-September. You can find more up to date information on their facebook page.

The easiest access the to the Alpage de Balme  is to take the Charamillon gondola from the hamlet of Le Tour and then take the Autannes chair lift. From there it is a 3km flat trail to the Alpage. The other option is to take the Vallorcine gondola from Vallorcine. From there it is a 1km flat trail to the Alpage.
