The Buvette des Mottets is a snack bar below Montenvers along the end of the Mer de Glace. The buvette can be reached from the Chamonix valley floor through a number of trails. We got a detailed trail description for a loop trail from Chamonix to Montenvers and back. The shortest way to reach it, is to take the Montenvers Train to Montenvers and then walk down to the Buvette. This will take roughly 30-40 minutes.

What makes the Buvette de Mottets very unique is that they offer bubble tent accommodations. These bubbles tents are made from clear plastic and provide a clear view to the sky above. Each bubble tent is made for 2 adults and 1 child and there are 4 bubble tents on location. It is a unique opportunity to look at stary night in beautiful nature. The buvette is typically open from the end of May to the end of September but please check their website to confirm the exact dates and to make bookings. They also serve food with some pretty original dishes beside the usual mountain fair like salads, omelets and different cakes and deserts.
