The Chapelle de Bionnassay is a chapel in the hamlet of Bionnassay on the other side of the mountain west of Les Houches and south east from Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. The chapel was built in 1480 with the Battendier family and other families from the area taking the initiative. As with many of these type of hamlet chapels, the locals decided to build their own chapel as the churches in the bigger towns were often hard to reach, especially in winter. The chapel is consecrated to Saint Dominic and Saint Catherine of Siena. There are a number of nice paintings inside the chapel. This could be the reason that we tend to find the chapel locked with only an open grated window providing a glimpse inside.

The chapel is located in the hamlet of Bionnassay very near to the Auberge de Bionnassay which is a popular refuge. Bionnassay is a potential stop on the Tour du Mont Blanc multi-day hike for the stage that takes you from Les Houches to Les Contamines-Montjoie.
