The Col de la Forclaz is a mountain pass located between the Tete Noire and Prarion summits. It sits right above the hamlet of Vaudagne and north-west from Les Houches. The mountain pass itself is not very appealing. It sits in a forest and has no real views in any direction. What makes Col de la Forclaz special is that it forms the crossroads of 7 trails and 4x4 roads and as such its a major junction for exploring both sides of the Prarion mountain. There is a picnic table and a nice log with the name of the col carved in it. We got a nice hiking and running trail that explores Charousse, Prarion and Col de Voza and covers the full crest and areas east from the Prarion summit.
