The Col des Corbeux is a rocky mountain pass located on a ridge that seperates the valley that leads to Lac Vieux Emosson and the valley that runs from the ridgeline of Mont Buet to the Vallorcine valley. This ridge line runs from the Cheval Blanc and the Pointe de la Terrasse. The Col des Corbeux is located on the border with Switzerland but the trail marker is provided by France. The Col des Corbeux form a 3 way junction with trails leading north to Cheval Blanc, South to Col de la Terrasse and west towards Tre les Eaux

We have two route descriptions for reaching the Mont Buet summit from the northern approach. We got one version that passes by the Refuge de Loriaz and the Col de la Terrasse and then proceeds on to the Cheval Blanc after passing the Col des Corbeux. The other version goes through the bowl and the valley directly west from Mont Buet and hits the ridgeline at Col Corbeux. Both trails continue on to Cheval Blanc before reaching Mont Buet.
