This lake is absolutely gorgeous with crystal clear water that reflect the Aguille du Midi above it. The lake isnt very large but its beautiful setting definitely make it worth a visit. It is very easy to reach Lac Bleu from the Plan de l'Aiguille lift station. The trail between the two is well marked and less than 1 kilometer in length. The trail is rocky but does not have much vertical gain. You can easily do it with kids.
Lac Bleu can also be visited as part of the Grand Balcon Nord that runs between the Montenvers mountain station and the Plan de l'Aiguille lift with the Refuge de Plan de l'Aiguille as an optional stop over. Our trail for the Grand Balcon Nord includes both the refuge and Lac Bleu and it would be our recommended way of doing it.
