Small high mountain lake located north from the very nearby Col du Cornu. The Torrent du Lac Cornu is the stream that runs from Lac Cornu down the mountain and meets the Diosaz river. The Diosaz river then meets the main river Arve near Servoz.
The easiest way to visit the is by taking the Index lift from Flegere which is typically open from mid June to mid September. You would then traverse southwards towards the Col de la Gliere from where its a short walk to the lake. The Lacs Noirs are very nearby and are often combined in one trail. We have detailed trail description for a traverse of the Grand Balcon Sud from Col-des-Montets and visiting the 3 high mountain lakes of Lac Blanc, Lacs Noirs and the Lac Cornu.
