Very Good

The Refuge de Moede Anterne has an amazing location for exploring the natural reserves of Sixt-Passy, Passy, Vallon Berard and the northern edges of the Aiguilles Rouges. It is literally surrounded by natural reserves and there are amazing trails in all directions from the refuge. The refuge is set in a beautiful natural setting with wide pastures and great views of all the peaks all around. The refuge dates back all the way to 1898 and has been expanded and renovated numerous times since then.

The refuge provides basic accommodations and meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dormitory-style sleeping quarters can accommodate up to 91 guests, and there are shared bathroom facilities including showers. Guests should bring their own sleeping bag liners and towels. The refuge is open from the start of June to the end of September. The refuge serves traditional mountain food, including hearty stews, soups, and local cheese. The bar serves drinks and snacks throughout the day. Dogs are not allowed. Check the website of the refuge for bookings and opening hours.

The Refuge Moede Anterne is one of the refuges that you can pass by as part of the very beautiful Tour des Fiz for which we have a detailed trail descriptions. We also have a detailed trail description for a loop trail running from Servoz over the Montagne de Pormenaz to the Lac de Pormenaz and you can easily add a visit to the Refuge Moede Anterne to that route. Lastly, we got a fantastic trail that runs all the way from the Le Buet train station near Vallorcine to Servoz passing through the Vallon Berard and Passy natural reserves.
