Brevent Cable Car

The Brevent Cable Car is a 50 person cable car that runs from Le Planpraz (2000m) to the top of Brevent (2525m). The Planpraz mid station is reached using the Chamonix-Planpraz Gondola which departs near the center of Chamonix. The Brevent Cable Car is one of the most popular ones in the valley and it provides the best views of Mont Blanc seeing how the Brevent is situated right across from it. There are a restaurant and a snackbar at Brevent enabling you to combine the views with a meal or a drink.

This cable car was originally built in 1930 and then replaced in 1987. The current 50 person Cable car was installed in 2019.

In winter, the Brevent Cable Car leads to the black run that runs from Brevent back to the midstation of Planpraz. In summer, it is open from mid June to mid September. Children below 2 years old are not allowed to ride the cable car. There is a ticket office at the ground station where you can buy your tickets directly before going. For exact operating dates, ticket prices and to buy your tickets online, visit the official website.
