The Verticalp Emosson is a combination of 3 different lift systems that will take you from Le Chatelard, right across the border in Switzerland, to Lac Emosson. The first ride is a mid-sized furnicular which goes from Le Chatelard to Les Montuires. Once there you will find the Verticalp cafe and the departure for the second ride which is the panoramic train. The panoramic train has no windows and offers nice views along the ride. The train stops at the Pied du Barrage from where a very small and steep furnicular takes you up to the Emosson dam and the Lac Emosson lake. At the Emosson dam you can enjoy the views of the lake and walk across the very imposing dam. There is also a large restaurant with outdoor seating and great views over the Vallorcine valley to Mont Blanc. You can also visit the charming little Chapelle de Notre Dame de la Neige. There is also a spectacular zip line that you can take to cross the valley below the dam. It's pretty scary but something you will not soon forget. 

We got a nice loop trail that takes you from the dam to Lac Vieux Emosson and the Cabane du Vieux Emosson and back again. This is nice option if you want to combine the Verticalp and the activities around the Emosson dam with a mid-sized hike or run.
